Fundraising
The primary role of the Prevent Blindness Foundation is to prevent blindness and preserve sight. We achieve this by funding the work of the Queensland Eye Institute, which includes worldclass research, professional education, patient care and community awareness programmes. These services are made possible through the generous support of the Queensland community - we do not receive any Government funding.
Currently there are over 500,000 Australians who have low vision or are legally blind. It is estimated that every week approximately 300 more will be identified and their quality of life will suffer accordingly. These are very disturbing statistics, particularly as a number of these people will lose their sight needlessly.
By supporting this Foundation you can be an important part of our sight-saving achievements. We ask if you would give consideration to showing you support by:
- Making a donation.
- Including a bequest to the Foundation in your Will.
- Encouraging your community group/club to raise funds for the Foundation.
- Sharing your story with us for inclusion in our newsletter.
- Volunteering your time and talents to help us raise funds.
If you require further information or have any fundraising suggestions please contact us on by email or by telephoning us on 3010 3370 - we would love to hear from you.
Please be assured that any help you are able to give will make a difference and all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
