Privacy Statement

The Prevent Blindness Foundation is committed to ensuring the privacy of any personal information it obtains in the course of running the Foundation.

As a charity, the Foundation is dependent upon the on-going support of donors. Contact information provided to the Foundation from donors and supporters is added to the Foundation’s database and this information is used to keep supporters informed of the fundraising activities of the Foundation.

Contact information provided to the Queensland Eye Institute will not be added to the Foundation’s mailing list without consent.

The Foundation’s database is kept on a secure server in protected premises and this information is not shared with any other organization.

The Prevent Blindness Foundation collects information in accordance with the Privacy Principles as detailed in the Privacy Act 1988.

If, at any time, a person wishes to have their details removed from the Foundation’s database they can contact the Foundation’s Privacy Officer on 3010 3370.

Likewise, any person who would like to access their information can do so by contacting the Privacy Officer.

The Prevent Blindness Foundation urges anyone with concerns about their eyesight to seek advice from a qualified eye health care provider such as an Optometrist, General Practitioner or Ophthalmologist.
